The artist behind the edit

Lisa Potter-Dixon has spent more than 20 years in beauty. She began on Benefit’s shop floor and became its inaugural Global Head of Makeup Artistry. Her work includes London Fashion Week looks for Matthew Williamson and Sophia Webster, editorial credits at ELLE, Wonderland and Grazia, and appearances on ITV’s Lorraine and SheerLuxe.

She is also a bestselling author of three books sold in more than 20 countries, co-founder of The C-List, an online beauty shop for people living with cancer, and a Beauty Backed trustee. Alongside beauty, she co-founded Velvet Smoke, a homeware brand. This edit uses her published fall guidance and selected product mentions as its anchor, rather than presenting every item as one of her personal favorites.

Lisa Potter-Dixon’s fall makeup direction

Her autumn makeup guide pairs soft-focus skin with chocolatey eyes, statement blush, berry lips and a return to 90s-inspired makeup. Among the products she names are the Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liner and Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eyeshadow.

That mix leaves room for a precise eye or a stronger lip without losing the softly finished base. The grids below bring together complexion, eye, cheek and lip products from brands that fit the techniques and seasonal direction she has written about.

Where I would start with Lisa Potter-Dixon’s look

I would keep the skin softly finished, then choose one eye detail from the edit. Pair the Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal with flushed cheeks, or make a berry lip the center of the look. Her fall notes make a strong case for one clear accent.
