Showpo sizing is a style-by-style call, so I use its conversion chart as a starting point instead of assuming every piece fits alike. I compare the US label with each garment's length, stretch, and silhouette notes.

Showpo Sizing: Does Showpo Run Small, Big or True to Size?
The chart is a starting point, not a fit promise
Showpo sizing is not a blanket true-to-size verdict; the brand itself says fit varies by style. I start with its conversion chart: AU 4 maps to US 0 and AU 20 maps to US 16, with the intermediate sizes listed clearly. The brand asks shoppers to measure bust at the fullest part, waist at the smallest part, and hips at the fullest point. That gives me a useful framework, but garment measurements still matter. Sandy is low stretch and its size S / US 8 length is listed as 121 cm, while the studio model is in XS / US 2. Thelma, also a fitted maxi, lists a 149 cm length for size S / US 8 and a low-stretch crepe. Those two product pages show why I do not infer my own fit from a single model photo. I compare the size conversion with the actual garment's stretch, closures, and intended shape before deciding whether to keep my usual US size. A size chart does not promise identical ease across dresses, tops, and trousers; I treat it as translation, not a guarantee.
Four maxis, four different proportions
Showpo's four dresses sit in the same maxi category but will not feel the same in wear. Pietra Maxi Dress is a knit off-shoulder shape; Thelma Maxi Dress has a square neckline and bodycon line; Larson Maxi Dress is a column with an asymmetric tie neck; Sandy Maxi Dress uses a sweetheart halter. Thelma and Sandy are the two pieces I would inspect most carefully if I want a close fit: both have low-stretch fabrics, and Sandy's mid-weight woven dress is lined. The product page gives Sandy's size S / US 8 length as 121 cm, while the studio model wears XS / US 2, which is a better comparison point than assuming the hem will land the same on me. For eventwear, I would check the closure and room at the bust before sizing up or down. A long hem is also a proportion decision, so the length note is worth more than the word maxi alone. I keep my measurements in centimeters and compare them with the size chart, but for a close bodycon cut I pay more attention to stretch and closure than the model's height.
Stretch and structure change the top
Showpo's tops make a good case for checking fabrication instead of sorting only by neckline. Melanie Top is a non-stretch georgette halter with lining; Hillary Top is high-stretch jersey with side ruching and an asymmetric neckline. Arianae Top's high-neck shape and Chelsea Top's gathered-bust corset are more structured, so I would check the bust before choosing a size. I would compare the chart to my bust and waist, then look at whether the item pulls on or closes with hardware. Melanie's product page shows a model in XS / US 2, but that does not turn her proportions into a universal conversion. A non-stretch halter asks more of bust measurement than a jersey layer. If I am between sizes, I let the fabric and intended fit decide rather than use a single model photo as evidence that a label will work.
Rise and length make the trouser
Poppy Pants are high-rise and wide-leg, while Seville Pants have a high-waisted slim bootcut; Nadine Pants sit mid-rise with a split hem, and Nyla Pants are pull-on lace with a high waist and scalloped edge. Those are four different reasons to order, which is why I would not try to solve Showpo with one size adjustment. Poppy's size S / US 8 length is listed at 113.5 cm and its fabric is low stretch. Nyla is a pull-on straight cut, so it will drape differently from the tailored Poppy and Seville. My verdict: start with the chart, take bust, waist, hip, and inseam measurements, then read the item note for stretch and length. The size conversion is clear; fit varies with the silhouette. If I were new to the brand, I would try a low-stretch piece only after checking the garment details, then use that fit as one reference for future orders.
