What to Wear in Nashville: Western Boots, Denim and Tartan

What to wear for a weekend in Nashville: western boots, a cowboy hat, denim jackets, tartan and suede minis.

A Nashville weekend asks for clothes that can handle a honky tonk floor at noon and a rooftop at midnight. I pack around boots first, then build up. Free People's Cat Nap boots and the Jett from Loeffler Randall both go with a mini skirt or a pair of straight jeans, and a cream cowboy hat from Lack of Color covers the days when my hair has given up.

 

For tops and skirts I lean on tartan and suede. The GUIZIO corset and mini skirt are a ready made set, and the olive suede pieces from superdown work with a denim jacket thrown over. Lioness and With Jéan both make a denim jacket that fits right over a tee, and a western belt from B-Low The Belt pulls the whole thing together. I would toss in turquoise earrings from petit moments, since they make plain outfits look like a plan.
