What to Wear to Friendsgiving

Friendsgiving calls for the pieces that would feel too knowing at a family table: textured jackets, relaxed denim and a grounded boot. The mood works because the dinner is social rather than formal, so the outfit can carry a little more personality than usual. This edit builds the look around one strong texture and one calm supporting cast.

What to Wear to an Engagement Party

An engagement party calls for a dress that catches the light without competing with the bride, built around texture, a little shine and a beautifully finished shoe. That balance matters more here than at a wedding itself, since the dressing should feel festive rather than borrowed from bridal. This edit works through textured dresses, then the shoes and bags that finish the look without turning it formal.

What to Wear to an Art Opening

An art opening calls for dressing with a point of view rather than following a strict code. The strongest approach mixes a strong outer layer and tactile separates with grounded shoes, then adds one striking piece of jewelry near the face. This edit leans on both directional labels and quieter basics to build that look.

What to Wear to a School Fundraiser

What to wear to a school fundraiser: a clean midi or shirt dress that works from daylight tables into an evening room. I pair the dresses with shoes that last the night and a structured tote.

What to Wear to a Fall Rehearsal Dinner

What to wear to a fall rehearsal dinner: a satin or velvet midi or maxi dress with a sharp jacket or sculptural bag. I pick dresses with evening texture, outer layers that count as part of the outfit, and polished shoes.

What to Wear to a Fall Outdoor Dinner

What to wear to a fall outdoor dinner comes down to one substantial layer over a dress or slim trousers, plus boots that handle uneven ground. I go through coats, light-catching satin dresses and boots for candlelight.

What to Wear to a Fall Baby Shower

What to wear to a fall baby shower: soft knit and cotton dresses, cashmere cardigans, ballet flats and low boots. Easy pieces for an afternoon of sitting, hugging and opening gifts.

What to Wear to a Cocktail Party

Cocktail party dressing is the art of looking intentional without looking overworked, built around a dress that has a little tension in it. A clean neckline with an unusual hem, a quiet metallic sheen, or velvet that catches the light does more than a classic black dress alone. This edit pairs those dresses with shoes and jewelry precise enough to let the dress keep the drama.

What to Wear to a Charity Dinner

A charity dinner calls for dressy polish without the severity of full black tie, which means one deliberate flourish, a sculpted shoulder, a satin surface, a velvet line, does more work than an entirely formal uniform. The room usually moves between reception, dinner and speeches, so the outfit needs to hold up seated as well as standing. This edit builds that balance from the dress outward to the bag and shoe.

What to Wear to a Casual Thanksgiving

Comfortable Thanksgiving dressing with the polish left intact, built around soft layers, easy trousers and shoes you can keep on through a long afternoon.

What to Wear for a Fall Girls' Dinner

A fall girls' dinner outfit needs a shape that survives a crowded booth and still looks considered when the flash goes off. Layered evening pieces are having a moment because they photograph well without requiring a totally new wardrobe. This edit moves between a leather-jacket-over-slip formula and fuller evening dresses for the same night out.

What to Wear Between Christmas and New Year's

The days between Christmas and New Year's call for clothes with more thought than loungewear and far less ceremony than party dressing. This edit builds a quiet-week wardrobe around a substantial knit, easy trousers or denim, and a flat shoe that can handle a long walk. The pleasure of the week is having nowhere urgent to be, and the clothes are meant to match that pace.

The Holiday Party Edit: What to Wear to Every Invitation

For a holiday party, wear a velvet or dark dinner jacket, a crisp shirt, a silk tie or bow tie and polished shoes. Velvet and dinner jackets, dress shirts and ties, polished shoes and small finishing pieces cover the office party, the dinner and the family gathering.

The Black Tie Edit: Holiday Dressing, Upgraded

Black tie means a tuxedo or dinner jacket, a formal white shirt, a bow tie and polished black shoes. Tuxedos and dinner jackets, formal shirts and bow ties, patent and velvet shoes, and dress watches and studs cover the full formal list.

New Year's Eve, Sorted: The Men's Going-Out Edit

On New Year's Eve, wear a dark blazer or leather jacket, a good shirt and shoes that hold up past midnight. Dark blazers, late-night shirts, boots that hold up past midnight and leather jackets are grouped by what the night calls for.

Halloween Outfits for Women Who Don't Want to Wear a Costume

Halloween outfits do not need to read as a costume when dark dresses, polished leather, velvet texture and a pointed boot already do the work of the evening. That approach is showing up now because the appetite for literal costuming has faded in favor of clothes with the same after-dark mood built in. This edit pairs dark foundations with one theatrical accent rather than a full theme.

Chic Halloween Dinner Party Dressing

Chic Halloween dinner-party dressing is about atmosphere, not costume, which means the fabric and the light in the room matter more than any theme. Velvet gives a simple silhouette depth, and a jewel tone catches candlelight without turning theatrical. This edit builds from that idea, pairing rich textures with one precise accent instead of a pile of seasonal symbols.

Designer Handbags: The Shoulder, Top-Handle and Everyday Bags Worth Carrying

A strong bag does more than carry the day; its shape can set the pace for an entire outfit. These forty-two designer handbags run from suede shoulder styles and sculptural top handles to practical totes and compact crossbodies. The best choice balances the room you need with the line you want to bring to a coat, denim or evening dress.

Holiday Party Makeup and Fragrance: Beauty for Every Event

Holiday party season is rarely one event, it is dinner, then drinks, then whatever comes after, all on the same night. A routine that survives all three has to do more than look good in a mirror at home, from skin prep and hair that holds to a face built for low light and a scent that lasts past the first stop. This edit moves through that order and ends with the few pieces that matter most if the whole list feels like too much.

Apres-Ski Skincare and Hair Care for Dry, Windburned Skin

Apres-ski beauty is really about exposed skin, dry cabin air and helmet hair, not a different product for every hour on the mountain. The useful plan is small, sun protection that travels between hands, lips and face, and richer recovery for the room once the day is over. This edit keeps the list short enough to actually use between a lift, a shower and dinner.

Winter Weekend Away Beauty: Skincare and Hair Care to Pack

A winter weekend away goes better with a bathroom-sized routine than a full one, since the room will be small and the plans will change. The point is products that fit an actual sequence, a cleanse, a wash-day fallback, sunscreen, and one overnight step, rather than five impressive claims competing for the same shelf. This edit builds a bag around moments in the trip instead of an aspirational best case.

Winter Date Night Makeup and Fragrance Ideas

A winter date night asks for a look that holds from the restaurant table to wherever the evening goes after, not one that needs constant checking. The plan here is skin that still looks like skin, a small kit of finishing pieces, and one fragrance worn close instead of two competing for the room. Restraint is the actual strategy, since a polished look and a complicated one are not the same thing.
